Nostalgia can't save Beep

Jason White Mar 12, 2010 15:23:40 PM

It was a staple of breakfast for millions right across the country, but after years of dwindling sales the fruit drink 'Beep' is leaving for good.

Decades ago, you could get Beep pretty much right across the country. Now it lurks in a limited space in the dairy cases of just a few grocery stores.

"If I seen a lot I would buy it more," says Stephen.

He says it was always in his family's fridge when he was growing up.

Barbara used to buy it for her kids, but can't remember the last time she picked some up.

"Years," she says. "(Now) I just drink the fresh orange juice."

A few people say they don't drink Beep because of the sugar. But there are still a lot of sweet memories for those who grew up with it.

Farmers Dairy's website says Beep will start disappearing from store shelves over the next few weeks.
