Police reported a successful conclusion Monday afternoon to a day-long search for 71-year-old Brian Archibald Davidson, who went missing Sunday.
"We believe he's in fair condition," says Cpl. Joe Taplin with RCMP. "And (he) was just taken to the Cobequid Health Centre as a precautionary measure."
Davidson was reported missing after a dispute with a family member Sunday afternoon while driving on Highway 102 toward the airport.
He pulled over, got out of the car and refused to get back in. The family member drove away and when she returned he was nowhere to be seen.
Cpl. Taplin says a volunteer searcher found Davidson Monday afternoon, nearly 24 hours later, on a logging road several kilometres away.
"He went down about one kilometre down a logging road, which was located off Holland Road int he Fletcher lake area," says Taplin. "He did locate Mr. Davidson laying down or sitting down in the ditch area."
At one point Monday morning around 50 members of Halifax search and rescue and a Department of Natural Resources helicopter were involved in the search.
