Non-priority groups get the H1N1 shot
Hundreds of people in Nova Scotia have received the H1N1 vaccination while those in priority groups are still waiting for their shot. Of those given the shot include 100 at Farmers Dairy in Truro. Vice President of Marketing Derek Estebrook explains they had received the shipment before the restrictions were put in place. "Because the vaccine has to be shipped refrigerated and stored refrigerated, once it's shipped out it cant be shipped back. Spokesperson Shaune McKinley explains HRM also received doses before restrictions were implemented. "So we had to look at the limited number of vaccine doses that we had, and we had to say what is most important to the public." HRM's stock went into the arms of police, fire fighters and 911 operators. |
