Swine flu cases increase almost five times in Province
The province's health officials are confirming the swine flu continues to spread across Nova Scotia. The province's weekly respiratory report shows there have been 377 lab confirmed cases of the H1N1 virus since September. Last week the province had 80 cases confirmed, with one of those requiring hospitalization. Of the 377 cases, 26 have been hospitalized, four of which required intensive care attention. The province's deputy cheif medical officer of health says it's too early in the second wave of the virus to know if it is more severe now then in the spring. Maureen Baikie explains how the virus will effect us in future weeks. "see it continue to spread in nova scotia, what we dont' know is what effect immunization across the country will have on the rise of the disease. The only H1N1 death in the province was in the spring. |
