Mooseheads head into game against Sea Dogs missing a few players
The Halifax Mooseheads will have a different lineup in Wednesday night's matchup against the Saint John Sea Dogs. Defenseman Sawyer Hannay, winger Jessyko Bernard and goaltender Joel Grondin and are at home suffering from the flu. The team called up Randy Chisholm who's been playing with Pictou in the Maritime Junior A Hockey League. Mathieu Corbeil will get the start in nets. The good news is forward Gabriel Desjardins is expected to return from the flu, as is forward Charles Bety, who missed two games with an infected elbow. However the situation is not quite as bad as the one the Moncton Wildcats find themselves in. They will not be playing their next two scheduled games after two players tested positive for H1N1. The Wildcat's team doctor Martin Robichaud says 17 players are being quarantined, as per the directive from public health, in order to reduce the chance of spreading the virus to others. The Halifax Mooseheads also are sending 18-year-old defenseman Alex MacDonald back to junior A indefinitely. MacDonald, who has dressed for just five of 19 games this season, was traveling on the team bus and was dropped off in Moncton. He will join the Maritime Junior A Hockey League’s Dieppe Commandos.
