Alberta man arrested in Halifax on internet luring charges
Police arrested an Alberta man in a parking lot off Agricola Street Sunday afternoon and he's now facing charges of internet luring. Police say the suspect was using the internet to contact someone he knew to be under the age of 16 to meet up for a sexually related reason. The person at the other end of the conversation was an undercover cop. "Every time we have an incident such as this where a young person is exploited, whether it be here or anywhere, it's very concerning to police," said Cst. Brian Palmeter with Halifax police. They're unsure what 47-year-old Richard MacLean was doing in Halifax however he is due in provincial court Monday. |
