Coyotes should be wiped out: councillor
A Colchester County councillor says the province should consider exterminating its coyote population. Coun. Mike Cooper says they're hunting in packs now and he says we might as well get rid of them. Cooper tells the Truro Daily News the fatal attack on a young woman in Cape Breton will not be an isolated situation. He says the animals are becoming more and more brazen. The story is the same closer to HRM, where a Portguese Cove man says coyotes have been roaming closer and closer to his home. Keith Watters tells the Herald a couple have even wandered up his driveway and one killed a pet beagle in Ketch Harbour. Watters says coyotes have always been in the area, but they're getting bolder - to the point that he won't let his grandchildren play outside on their own. |
