Police ask for tips on foiled plot to open fire in Halifax mall

Police in Halifax say they’ve received several tips from the public about two people accused of plotting to open fire on people in a Halifax shopping mall, and they’re asking for more tips.

Lindsay Kanittha Souvannarath, 23, of Geneva, Ill., and Randall Steven Shepherd, 20, of Halifax appeared Tuesday in Halifax provincial court and had additional charges laid against them.

A press release from Halifax district RCMP says they’ve had tips come in about online activity from those two, and the dead 19-year-old found in a home in Timberlea.

Police have set up an email account for people to submit tips: RCMP.threatsinvestigation.enquetesurlesmenaces.GRC@rcmp-grc.gc.ca .

And videos, photos and screen shots can be uploaded at http://www.services3.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/ut/index-en.php

Police say they’re continuing to investigate every avenue related to this incident and they’ll review every piece of information that citizens submit.

They caution, if you do submit information, police may contact you to follow up. And they say anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can give tips through Crime Stoppers.
