Bell to divest 10 radio stations in five markets in $3.4B deal to buy Astral

MONTREAL – Telecom giant BCE will divest 10 radio stations in five markets under the $3.4-billion deal to buy Montreal’s Astral Media.

The markets are Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto and Ottawa.

BCE made the stations public at a CRTC hearing today in Montreal that’s looking at the acquisition of Astral.

Seven of the stations are owned by Astral and three by Bell.

In Vancouver, the stations are CISL AM, CKZZ FM, CHHR FM, while in Calgary it’s CKCE FM.

The Winnipeg stations being divested are CFQX FM and CHIQ FM, in Toronto they are CHBM FM, CFXJ FM and in Ottawa, the stations are CKQB FM, CJOT FM.
