Leaders’ TV debates April 12-13

TORONTO, Ont. – The televised leaders’ debates are this week.
The Ottawa-held debates will be on April 12 (7 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET) in English and on April 13 (8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET) in French.
The group of television executives that controls the event made the final decision on March 30.
The executives — from CBC, CTV and Shaw Media (Global Television and TVA) — said they’ve heard all the pushback from those who think the Green Party should be in, but following in their words “journalistic principles,” only leaders who are represented in the House of Commons will be invited.
The Green Party fought for a spot among the official parties in the leaders’ debate, but was excluded this time.
