More wild weather is on the way for Atlantic Canada

More wild weather is on the way for Atlantic Canada.

Today’s snow and heavy rain comes just a week after high winds and heavy rains caused flooding and extensive damage.

In Cape Breton rainfall amounts could reach 70 millimetres by late tomorrow.

People planning to use the ferry service between Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador may be facing delays and cancellations this week.

Marine Atlantic says its vessels will be tied up today for about 72 hours due to a forecast calling for winds over 100 kilometres-an-hour and seas of seven to nine metres.

A company spokeswoman says if this week’s forecast is accurate, they may not be able to move all 800 customers who have booked reservations prior to Christmas Day.
