Mooseheads lose three straight, fall to Wildcats 3-2

MONCTON, N.B. – The Halifax Mooseheads lost their third straight game Wednesday night, as the Moncton Wildcats edged out the Herd 3-2 at the Moncton Coliseum.

The Wildcats opened up the scoring just passed the midway point of the first period, but it only took Benoit Olivier-Groulx 17 seconds to answer back and tie things up at 1-1. Halifax captain Maxime Fortier extended their lead to 2-1 at the 17:16 mark of the first.

Moncton would eventually tie things up late in the second period, and then retake the lead near the midway point of the final period.

The Wildcats managed to hang on for the remainder of the period, taking a 3-2 win and handing the Mooseheads their third straight loss.

On Friday, the Herd heads over to Cape Breton to take on the Screaming Eagles.
