Fire in north end apartment temporarily displaces two

A woman and a 9-year-old girl have been temporarily displaced after a fire at a nine-story building in the north end Tuesday night.
The Canadian Red Cross says the blaze was confined to one apartment at 109 Connor Lane, no one was hurt but other tenants in nearby units have minor water damage.
They’ve arranged emergency lodging for the mother and daughter and say they should be able to return to their home once it has been cleaned up and repaired.
