Halifax Regional Police have been searching the Chocolate Lake area for anything suspicious after getting a report of ammunition being thrown into the body of water.
Police aren’t saying much but they tell NEWS 95.7 they got a call from municipal staff Friday after finding a large amount of bullets.
They add dive teams searching the lake haven’t yet found any sharp metal objects, but they have been looking for anything that would be a danger to swimmers.
Swimming at the popular summertime spot doesn’t appear to have been effected.
“The area searched was not the supervised swimming area. Halifax Regional Police have not indicated the beach is closed to swimmers. We are still open for public swimming.” said HRM spokesperson Lucas Wide
Their investigation continues.
