A famous painting by Maud Lewis found in a New Hamburg thrift store finally has an owner.
The Mennonite Central Committee in Kitchener, says the successful online auction drew a bidder willing to pay $45,000 for the art-work.
The painting, which features a classic Nova Scotia landscape, has been the talk of the country for the last two months.
The proceeds from the auction will go to supporting the Mennonite Central Committee’s relief and peace work around the world.
