None injured as taxi crashes into lobby of downtown Halifax hotel

HALIFAX – Talk about front door service.

Halifax police say a 54-year-old Dartmouth cab driver was not injured after his taxi crashed through the front doors of the Delta Barrington late Thursday afternoon.

They say the driver had just dropped off a fare in the downtown area and was heading north on Barrington when he said he lost his brakes.

The vehicle was trapped halfway between the hotel lobby doors and the sidewalk.

Police say a small dog that was also travelling in the cab was not hurt. They’re asking anyone with information on the incident to contact police or crime stoppers.
