More snowy weather possible in April: Meteorologist says

By Andrew Pinsent

HALIFAX – The region saw more snow on Monday and according to Environment Canada, Spring weather may not be as close as the calendar suggests.

The snowfall prompted some afternoon delays and closures, as well as cancellations and delays at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

NSCC closed their Halifax Metro campuses early in the afternoon and the HRM overnight winter parking ban was put into effect, as winter operation crews will look to clear the main roads and sidewalks.

It also looks like we’re not out of the woods yet when it comes to winter, as Environment Canada warns this low pressure system will pull away late Friday, which will bring mild temperatures over the weekend before another low pressure system makes its way south of the province on Sunday.

While that system isn’t expected to have a big impact on the Maritimes, meteorologist Bob Robicheau said it means there is a possibility of more snowy weather in April.
