Blizzard forces school closures in Cape Breton, parts of the mainland

HALIFAX – Strong winds and blowing snow causing some concern in Halifax Thursday morning, but if you’re travelling to other parts of the province, conditions are worse.
A blizzard warning remains in effect for Cape Breton along with Pictou and Antigonish counties.
Environment Canada says there will be near zero visibility because of blowing snow, so driving conditions will be treacherous.
The storm forcing schools to close in other parts of the province:
-All Annapolis Valley Regional School Board schools closed today due to road conditions, offices & worksites opening 9 a.m.
-Chignecto Central Regional School Board has cancelled classes today
-Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board says school for all students and all school board employees is cancelled today
-Strait Regional School Board has cancelled classes at all schools, all buildings closed & support staff do not report to work.
-South Shore Regional School Board cancelling classes for students at New Ross Consolidated
-Dalhousie’s Agricultural campus in Truro is delaying opening this morning, no delays for the Halifax campuses
-StFX University will delay opening until 12PM
-There are also cancellations and delayed openings for some NSCC campuses, but not the ones here in metro
