Driver faces charges after pedestrian hit in Halifax crosswalk

HALIFAX – A 28-year-old woman was struck by a car on Friday night in downtown Halifax.

Police say the pedestrian was struck in a crosswalk at the intersetion of Rainnie Drive and Brunswick Street around 7:00 p.m.

The woman has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 28-year-old male driver was taken into custody and later was charged and realeased. He has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and failing to stop at the scene of accident causing bodily harm.

He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.
