Store employee hit in head with wrench during robbery

Halifax Regional Police say they’ve arrested a suspect after a store employee was hit multiple times in the back of the head with a wrench during a robbery.
It happened after noon Thursday at the Trove Boutique at 217 Herring Cove Road.
Police say the victim was able to push the suspect, who then took off with a cash box, running off down McMullen Road before taking a left onto Circle Drive.
A 36-year-old Halifax man has been charged with robbery and assault with a weapon causing bodily harm, he’ll be in court on April 6th.
The victim was treated at the scene by EHS for non-life-threatening injuries.
