Police investigate hit and run, car on fire in Windmill Road area

Halifax Regional Police are looking for a blue car with extensive front end damage after a hit and run along Windmill Road.

Police were called to the 200-block of Windmill Road, which is approximately between Jamieson and Farrell streets, just after 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

Witnesses told them the vehicle hit a parked car before driving off, no one at the scene was hurt.

Police say the make of the vehicle they’re looking for is a Honda or Hyundai sedan.

Officers were then called to Fernhill Drive around 12:30 a.m. Thursday to find a car fully engulfed in flames.

The scene is not far from where the hit and run happened and police say the vehicle appears to have front end damage.

They say at this point there’s no information to link the two investigations, but police say they’re exploring all possibilities.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020 or Crime Stoppers.
