Mooseheads to go pink for annual breast cancer fundraiser

It’s a big night for the Halifax Mooseheads as Pink in the Rink takes over the Scotiabank Centre.

Those going to the game are encouraged to wear pink as the Herd take on the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.

Moosehead’s communication manager Scott MacIntosh told NEWS 95.7 it’s a chance for the team to unite with the fans for a great cause.

“The Mooseheads will be wearing their pink jerseys which as always will be raffled off during the game, so fans will have a chance to purchase tickets on those game worn jerseys,” he explained.

A limited number of pink Mooseheads t-shirts will also be for sale at the new Mooseheads Official Shop, now located at Scotia Square Mall.

He added this game means a lot to the entire organization.

“Our coaches and our general manager Cam Russell speak to the players ahead of time to let them know how important the game is,” MacIntosh said. “There’s a lot of emotions on the line, most of us have been touched by cancer in one way or another.”

This is the 9th year for the fundraiser, which has so far raised over $120,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
