Man in custody after attempted robbery and gas theft

Police say a 39-year-old man has been arrested after officers were called to two incidents early this morning.
Just before 3:30 a.m., police responded to a report of an attempted robbery at the Needs Convenience store on Chebucto Road.
A man went in and demanded cash, but left on foot with nothing.
Shortly after that, police were called to the Esso gas station on Dutch Village Road after a report of theft of gas.
Police say they found a vehicle in the area, and arrested the man who police believe to be responsible for both incidents.
