Police say a 56-year-old man from Carolls Corner was killed this morning in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 2 near Elmsdale.
RCMP were called to the scene near the intersection with Highway 214 just after 6 a.m. Monday to find the truck portion of a tractor-trailer crashed into a power pole.
Sgt. Al Leblanc tells News 95.7 the cause of the crash has not been determined.
“This may — and I want to be cautious here — may have been caused by a medical condition. The reality is we haven’t determined the cause of the crash with certainty yet,” said Leblanc.
Police are not releasing the name of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
No charges are expected.
The road has since been reopened.
