Roommates stabbed each other, police allege

Two Halifax men are charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing one another over the weekend.

The first incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Sunday on Novalea Drive.

Police found a 36-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to hospital, treated and released.

Later that night, police responded to another call at the corner of Novalea and Duffus Street, where they found a 44-year-old man suffering from numerous stab wounds. He was also taken to hospital.

Investigators allege 44-year-old Darren Donald Burke stabbed 36-year-old Paul Shane Miller in the first incident, and Miller returned the favour in the second.

Both were due in court Tuesday to face charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons charges.

Police say the two men knew each other and were in fact roommates.
