Gas price jumps 3 cents ahead of Labour Day weekend

There’s been a jump at the gasoline pump heading into the last long weekend of summer.

The province’s Utility and Review Board raised prices by three cents per litre at midnight, moving the minimum price for regular self-serve up to 134.8 cents per litre.

There’s a smaller increase in the price of diesel, with the minimum price increasing by 1.2 cents per litre to 130.2.

One year ago, drivers were paying $1.40 per litre for gasoline and $1.37 per litre for diesel.

Oil was trading at $108.37US per barrel, just over $13 more than Thursday’s closing price of $94.76US per barrel.
