Police identify man accused of holding up Spring Garden bank

HALIFAX – Police in Halifax have identified a 66-year-old man accused in a downtown bank heist.

Robert Leo White is charged with robbery after police say he held up a Royal Bank on Monday.

Police allege White entered the branch on Spring Garden Road around noon and demanded money, saying he had a weapon.

They say he then ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash and was arrested shortly afterward.

Police say no one was injured.
