Police say a 69-year-old is facing attempted murder and numerous weapons-related charges after a 61-year-old man stabbed in stomach last night outside of a local business in downtown Dartmouth.
Halifax Regional Police Sgt. Kevin McNeil told News 95.7 police found out about the stabbing after responding to a weapons complaint in the 0-100 block of Portland Street at 7:26 p.m.
“The 61-year-old male victim was in a verbal altercation with a 69-year-old male suspect outside a local business. The suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the stomach area,” he said.
McNeil said the victim was taken to the QEII hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the suspect will appear in court today.
Police are not saying what local business the stabbing happened outside of and but police say the incident was not random.
