Halifax Police believe speed may have been a factor in a car crash that happened late Sunday night, resulting in the temporary closure of Exit 1A on Highway 102.
A 23-year-old man was taken to the QEII hospital after the single-vehicle accident, but police said the driver should be making a full recovery.
“We were under the impression that his injuries were serious, it’s since been reported that he’s out of any real danger,” said Halifax Police’s Lindsay Hernden.
Hernden added the site of the crash is a dangerous spot for drivers.
“It’s quite a remarkable turn at that location. I mean, it’s something that’s registered for 50 kilometres an hour, and even then, you’re pressing it a little bit because it’s quite a sharp turn as you come off onto the ramp.” said Hernden.
The Halifax Police Accident Investigation Team are still determining the cause of the crash, but say no signs of impairment are being reported at this time.
