This article is more than 5 years old.
It may be warm and muggy outside, but the city’s traffic authority has snow on his mind.
Ken Reashor has issued a release reminding drivers about changes to the winter parking ban.
This year, the overnight parking ban will be enforced only when there’s snow on the ground.
When it’s in effect, the ban will also be a little shorter, lasting from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.
The release says citizens will get a day or two warning before the ban is implemented and any cars that remain on the street will be ticketed or towed.
Reashor is urging residents to start looking for off-street parking now to ensure they have somewhere to park when the ban is in effect.
The changes to the ban are in effect for this year as a pilot project and whether they’re implemented again will depend on how well drivers comply.
The ban runs from December 15 to March 31.
