Police investigate rash of muggings

Regional police are investigating a rash of street assaults.

There were three of them Thursday evening and overnight.

In one case, a 17-year-old boy was approached by three suspects at a bus stop near Lacewood and Willett.

One of them asked the victim if he wanted to share a joint. The victim refused and was promptly punched in the eye and hit over the head with a beer bottle.

Another man walking on Evans Avenue was robbed by three boys, two of whom were arrested.

A third man was beaten and robbed near Victoria and Portland just after midnight. Police are looking for two suspects.
