Mooseheads lose fourth straight, fall to Islanders 5-1

HALIFAX – The Charlottetown Islanders handed the Halifax Mooseheads their fourth straight loss, defeating the Herd 5-1 on Saturday night.

After a scoreless first period, Gregor MacLeod gave the Islanders a 1-0 lead at the 2:35 mark of the second.

William Bower, Matthew Grouchy and two goals from Daniel Sprong gave a Charlottetown a commanding 5-0 lead late in the third period.

Halifax’s Raphael Lavoie scored at the 17:42 mark to help the Herd avoid their second shut out loss in a row, making the final score 5-1 Islanders.

On Monday, the Mooseheads get set to welcome the Moncton Wildcats to the Scotiabank Centre.
