Mooseheads snap losing streak, defeat Wildcats 3-2 in OT

MONCTON, N.B. – The Halifax Mooseheads snapped an eight game losing streak, defeating the Moncton Wildcats 3-2 in overtime Wednesday night at the Moncton Coliseum.

The Wildcats opened up scoring in the first period on a Logan Johnston goal, with Halifax’s Ben Higgins tying it up 15 seconds before the end of the period.

The Herd built on that momentum with Arnaud Durandeau lighting the lamp less than a minute into the second period, but Lane Cormier scored a short time later, making it 2-2 after 40 minutes.

After a scoreless third period, Durandeau netted the game winner at 1:27 of overtime, propelling the Mooseheads to a 3-2 victory.

On Friday, the Herd heads back home to welcome the Wildcats to the Scotiabank Centre.
