Federal Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff didn’t exactly give a ringing endorsement to HRM’s plans for a new downtown Halifax convention center.

Ignatieff took part in a town hall meeting in Halifax where he told the audience he cannot provide unconditional support for the project.

He did express cautious support for the convention centre and the energy deal with Newfoundland and Labrador.

Metro News reports Ignatieff wants to see a business case for the centre first.
