The Halifax Convention Centre will be showcasing local food when it opens in December.
The Centre announced Thursday it is partnering with local groups and food producers to give guests a taste of what the province has to offer.
While the Center itself is opening in December the hotel is not expected to make that mark.
“For the guests that are here joining us in 2018, they’ve made alternative lodging arrangements,” said Events East CEO, Carri Cussons. She added that they are hoping the hotel will open sometime in 2018.
Cussons said despite that they are still expecting nearly 30,000 guests for events in 2018.
“For the coming year we have 30 international/ national events,” she said. “We have just over a hundred total events which is about 3 times what we would currently host in the existing facility.”
