Police shut down Dalhousie homecoming parties attended by up to 1,500

HALIFAX — Nearly two dozen people have been arrested at several off-campus parties celebrating Dalhousie University’s homecoming season.
Police estimate up to 15-hundred people attended the parties in Halifax’s south end on yesterday, some of which spilled out into the street.
Dalhousie officials say extra duty-officers were hired to support police in the area, but reinforcements from other parts of the city had to be called in as well.
Police will continue to monitor the area through homecoming weekend.
