19-year-old Westville man faces child pornography charges

WESTVILLE — A 19-year-old Nova Scotia man is facing multiple child pornography-related charges.

Brett MacBeth was arrested earlier this week after a search of a home in Westville.

MacBeth is facing charges of sexual assault, sexual interference, making child pornography and three counts of possession of child pornography.

He appeared in Pictou Provincial Court on October 12 where he was remanded until his next appearance in Kentville on October 17, and Pictou on October 23.

Nova Scotia RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.

Police are concerned there may be other victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward and contact the RCMP at 902 720-5340.

It is reminding Nova Scotians, in the province it is mandatory for citizens to report suspected child pornography. This means anyone who encounters child pornography material or recordings must report it to police and failing to do so could result in penalties.
