(Meghan Groff/NEWS 95.7)
DARTMOUTH — Halifax Regional Police say it responded to a call just before 8 p.m. Saturday about a man in the Shoppers Drug Mart on Wyse Road in Dartmouth who approached the pharmacy area, demanding and obtaining an amount of prescription drugs.
The suspect left the store but police say it is unknown if he left on foot or by vehicle.
HRP say the suspect was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, a ball cap and sunglasses and no weapon was seen.
About an hour later HRP says it responded to another robbery at a convenience store located at 187 Windmill Road in Dartmouth.
Police say the suspect attempted to get cash from the register and an employee’s wallet. The employee was assaulted and sustained minor injuries.
The suspect is described as a white male in his twenties with brown hair wearing a white coat, black shorts and sandals and he fled in a vehicle.
Both investigations are in the early stages according to HRP and it is unknown at this time if the incidents are related.
