HALIFAX – At around 9:30 Friday night, Halifax Regional Police received a call reporting a truck towing a camper had backed into a pole on Olivet Street and then left the area.
A camper matching the description was reported early Saturday morning.
Police spotted the vehicle in the Lacewood and Titus area and tried to initiate a traffic stop but the vehicle refused to stop.
HRP says the vehicle was then spotted on Highway 103 outbound but completed a u-turn and started in bound.
The suspect came to a stop and was arrested when a spike belt was activated.
The 38 year-old-male is being held for court. He will face charges of theft, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, resisting arrest and dangerous driving.
