Four staff members at marijuana dispensary face charges following drug search in Halifax

HALIFAX – Three men and a woman have been charged following a drug search at a marijuana dispensary in Halifax Friday afternoon.

At 2:45 p.m., officers in the Drug Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, along with patrol officers, executed a search warrant at Auntie’s Dispensary on Barrington Street.

During their search, officers seized a quantity of marijuana and cannabis resin.

Constable Dianne Penfound said four staff members were arrested without incident.

A 66-year-old woman, a 42-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, all of Dartmouth, and 24-year-old man from Lower Sackville are all facing one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking in marijuana, and possession for the purpose of trafficking cannabis resin.

The woman faces an additional charge of cultivation of marijuana.

All four were released on a promise to appear and undertaking and are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face these charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
