Police investigate two robberies involving suspect on a bicycle

HALIFAX– Regional police are investigating after two robberies involving a suspect on a bicycle happened on the peninsula Monday night.
Police say around 8 p.m., a 20-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk near South Park and Inglis streets when a man riding a BMX bicycle drove into her leg before grabbing her purse.
The woman wasn’t hurt and her purse, along with its contents, was found a short distance away.
The second incident happened about an hour later, when a 45-year-old woman walking on a footpath behind the Victoria General site toward the IWK Health Centre had her purse grabbed–also by a man on a bike.
The suspect is described as a white man, 20 to 30 years of age, wearing all black clothing and a dark coloured helmet.
