Police investigate early morning stabbing

HALIFAX – Regional police are investigating an early morning stabbing in Halifax.
Officers were called to a report of a stabbing outside a home on Fays Lane, Wednesday just after 5:00 a.m.
Investigators say a man approached another man reaching into his car which resulted in a fight and stab injuries to the car owner’s leg.
The suspect ran off on foot and was last seen heading north on Tower Road.
Officers searched nearby areas with the help of a k-9 unit but could not find a suspect.
The victim, a 39-year-old Halifax man, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released.
The suspect is described as white, approximately 5’11” tall with scruffy facial hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a beige three-quarter length winter coat and carrying a dark coloured back-pack.
Police say the investigation is in its early stages.
