TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (11,980.10, down 8.85 points):

Baja Mining Corp. (TSX:BAJ). Miner. Down 19 cents, or 33.33 per cent, at 38 cents on 12,520,003 shares.

Viterra Inc. (TSX:VT). Grain-handler. Unchanged at $15.91 on 6,989,251 shares.

Cline Mining Corp. (TSX:CMK). Miner. Down six cents, or 6.74 per cent, at 83 cents on 6,316,885 shares.

Mitec Telecom Inc. (TSX:MTM). Telecommunications. Unchanged at 0.5 cents on 4,652,525 shares.

Cinram International Income Fund (TSX:CRW.UN). Audio manufacturing. Unchanged at 0.5 cents on 3,881,657 shares.

Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (TSX:CNQ). Oil and gas. Down 19 cents, or 0.6 per cent, at $31.30 on 3,671,325 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,365.77, down 5.26 points):

Oro Mining Ltd. (TSXV:OGR). Miner. Unchanged at 6.5 cents on 6,797,179 shares.

Madalena Ventures Inc. (TSXV:MVN). Oil and gas. Up five cents, or 11.11 per cent, at 50 cents on 4,440,406 shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Air Canada (TSX:AC.B). Airline. Down one cent, or 1.19 per cent, at 83 cents on 157,109 shares. Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services has removed Air Canada from its CreditWatch but has a negative outlook for the airline’s bookings and revenues because of unresolved labour disputes.

Fibrek (TSX:FBK). Pulp and paper. Unchanged at 95 cents on 1,210,350 shares. The company says it isn’t ready to wave the white flag to a hostile takeover bid by Resolute Forest Products, which still hasn’t secured a majority of the pulp producer’s shares. Montreal-based Resolute, formerly known as AbitibiBowater (TSX:ABH), up one cent, or 0.08 per cent, at $12.90 on 2,786 shares, said Tuesday that it holds about 48.8 per cent of Fibrek shares after adding 2.66 million as of Monday.

Sears Canada Inc. (TSX:SCC). Retail outlet. Unchanged at $13.58 on 4,105 shares. Sears Canada has signed a deal to sell its Cantrex Group operations to Nationwide Marketing Group as it continues to restructure its operations. Terms of the deal were not immediately available, however Sears said it would maintain its ownership of appliance retailer ownership of Corbeil Electrique Inc., which is a Cantrex member.
