Former Barrick Gold vice-president returns to become chief investment officer

By The Canadian Press

TORONTO – Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX) says former vice-president Mark Hill is returning to the company as chief investment officer, a new position.

The Toronto-based company says Hill’s technical experience will complement the economic and financial expertise of chief financial officer Catherine Raw.

During his previous time at Barrick, Hill was vice-president of evaluations and VP capital projects.

For the past four years, Hill has been at Waterton Global Resource Management, where he is currently a partner and head of mining.

He has previously held positions at BHP Billiton, AngloGold Ashanti, and Placer Dome, a Vancouver-based company that Barrick acquired in 2006.
