Gas prices expected to jump at midnight

HALIFAX – Drivers in Nova Scotia can expect another jump at the gas pump on Thursday night.

News 95.7 predicts when regulated prices are adjusted at midnight by the Utility and Review Board they will increase by about four cents per litre.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices tells News 95.7 that it may be a case of short term pain for long term gain for drivers.

“If there is a bright side to all this, I don’t see it lasting for very long because the simple reason is it’s the end of the summer and we could end up seeing gasoline inventory build as a result of that and that would end up impacting prices,” Murphy said.

Across the border in New Brunswick Thursday morning, regulated prices jumped 4.8 cents per litre at midnight to a new maximum price of $1.05/L.
