No serious injuries after crash between minivan, transport truck

HALIFAX – No one was seriously hurt after a two vehicle crash on Barrington Street Thursday evening between a minivan and a transport truck.

Regional Police were called to the scene just outside the Irving Shipyard around 5:05 p.m. on Thursday, where a minivan turning left across traffic on to northbound Barrington Street was struck by a southbound transport truck.

Both drivers weren’t hurt but two young children in the minivan were assessed by paramedics on the scene and taken to the IWK Children’s Hospital for treatment of their non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the two children were safely and properly fastened in car seats.

The 32-year-old woman driving the minivan was given a ticket for failing to yield when entering a highway.
