WOLFVILLE, N.S. – RCMP say a Halifax cyclist out for a day ride in the Annapolis Valley was killed Monday afternoon after colliding with a pickup truck.
Const. Kelli Gaudet says the man was dressed in full biking gear and was alone riding a racing style bike when he was hit by a pickup truck at the intersection of Ridge Road and Greenfield Rd just before 3:00 p.m. outside of Wolfville.
Investigators say conditions were sunny and clear at the time of the accident.
The cyclist was taken to the Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville where he later died as a result of his injuries.
Charges will were not expected against the female driver of the truck, who was not injured, with Gaudet saying the driver did nothing wrong, and obeyed all the rules of the road.
The identity of the victim wasn’t available Tuesday with RCMP only adding the investigation is ongoing.
