LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Latest on a hearing in the murder case against former rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight (all times local):
10:10 a.m.
A judge says lawyers for Marion “Suge” Knight cannot receive additional information about several potential witnesses in the murder case against the one-time rap mogul.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Ronald Coen ruled Friday that prosecutors had shown good reasons to withhold the identities of three confidential informants and the addresses of several witnesses.
Coen made his ruling after meeting in n closed session with a prosecutor and detective.
Knight’s lawyers sought the information so they could independently interview the witnesses to prepare a defence for the Death Row Records co-founder.
Prosecutors objected, citing Knight’s history of violence and allegations that he has intimidated witnesses.
The 51-year-old Knight has pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder charges.

Attorneys for Marion “Suge” Knight are returning to court to seek information about prosecution witnesses in a murder case against the former rap music mogul.
The hearing Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court comes amid new health problems for the Death Row Records co-founder, who was hospitalized for more than a week recently.
His attorney, J. Tooson, says Knight received emergency treatment for complications stemming from blood clots that developed after he was shot seven times in a West Hollywood nightclub in 2014.
In court, Knight’s lawyers are seeking details about witnesses to a January 2015 confrontation in a Compton parking lot that ended when authorities say Knight ran over two men, killing one and seriously injuring the other.
Prosecutors have opposed handing over the witnesses’ names, citing possible risks to their safety.
