Teen arrested in connection with Joseph Cameron murder released without charges

Halifax Regional Police say a Dartmouth teen arrested Thursday in connection with the homicide of Joseph Douglas Cameron has been released.

Police took the boy into custody without incident around 8:30 a.m. at a home on Spring Avenue.

Cst. Dianne Woodworth told NEWS 95.7, the 17-year-old was released without charges around 7 p.m. Thursday.

“At this point in the investigation charges were not warranted, but the investigation is ongoing,” she explained.

Cameron’s body was found on a sidewalk in the area of Spring Avenue and Mount Edward Road at around 5:20 a.m. on March 29th by officers responding to reports of shots fired.
