Drop in gas prices expected at midnight

The downward trend in the price of gasoline will continue this week.

When prices are adjusted at midnight they are expected to drop by about 2 cents per litre.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices told NEWS 95.7 he believes prices are likely to remain under the dollar-per-litre plateau for the remainder of the summer.

“At least for Nova Scotia and New Brunswick anyway,” he said. “Barring any conditions, hurricane scenarios, or something stupendous in the geopolitical world.”

Murphy added market data is showing a lower demand for gasoline.

In New Brunswick, prices fell by 2 cents overnight, driving the maximum price per litre down to 102.2.
